9bit Robot today announced a new publishing partnership with Pixel Licker, the independent developer behind the Slayin franchise. As part of the partnership, Slayin is coming to the Atari 7800, published by 9bit Robot, with a release planned for later this year.
Pixel Licker is an independent game developer and publisher, and also a freelance pixel artist and illustrator, with work spanning Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and Android. After 12 years in the games industry as a 3D artist, Pixel Licker released Slayin on iOS in 2012, then later expanded the series with Slayin 2, adding co op play and bringing the franchise to consoles. Recent and ongoing projects include Slayin 2, Dead End City, Slayin DX, Slayin, and Treasure Buster.
“Pixel Licker has a clear signature: sharp gameplay, great pixel art, and a deep love for classic genres,” said Ed Mello of 9bit Robot. “Slayin is a perfect fit for the Atari 7800, and we are excited to publish it for the community.”
